POLL: Price, style, fuel consumption... buying a car in SA - what matters most to you?

Price, fuel consumption, safety... we asked our readers what matters most to them when purchasing a new car in South Africa.

The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) reports that new vehicle sales declined in June 2019. Despite a drop in sales, 45 939 new models were sold locally.

We asked our readers which criteria matters most when considering a new car and our homepage poll garnered more than 8200 votes.

The majority of readers (41%) value price above all other factors, followed by fuel consumption (21%) and maintenance/parts (17%).  Only 4% valued vehicle "style".
