Botswana and South Africa are expected to push for regional forces to be sent in to help the Mozambican army deal with an insurgency in the north of the country, where fresh attacks over the past 10 days have seen scores of people killed and displaced.
Among the dead in Palma was a South African contractor who was building homes for workers at the newly established Total liquefied natural gas plant.
