Wheels24 contributor Calvin Fisher has been taking his 2010 Porsche Cayenne from the street to the desert and back again; he explains how to keep his SUV overlanding ready.


Sometimes it's a 200km road trip, mostly on tarmac, to a campsite. 

But in July, we wanted to push the adventure envelope with the Cayenne, which could only mean one thing. A 500km epic from the Cape to the Tankwa, Karoo. Of this, a solid 300km would be conducted on the dirt, mainly comprising of the R355 gravel highway, otherwise known as the longest dirt road in the country.
