The scintillating 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 has taken flight and has hit the road for the first time since making its global debut in August 2021. In these videos and pictures supplied by Automobili Lamborghini, the latest generation of Countach can be seen carving up the canyons alongside the very first Countach LP 400 and the special-edition Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary models.

As Lamborghini had initially announced when it unveiled the retro-inspired supermodel to global audiences last year, only 112 units of LPI 800-4 will be made. It's too late to act now if you want one because all 112 cars are spoken for and will be delivered to lucky owners over the next two years.

In the meantime, let's marvel at the exclusive footage above that Lamborghini says fully exalts the dynamic power of three generations of Countach.

'A visionary car of the moment'

"The Countach LPI 800-4 is a visionary car of the moment, just as its forerunner was," says Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann.

"One of the most important automotive icons, the Countach not only embodies the design and engineering tenet of Lamborghini but represents our philosophy of reinventing boundaries, achieving the unexpected and extraordinary and, most importantly, being the 'stuff of dreams'. The Countach LPI 800-4 pays homage to this Lamborghini legacy, but it is not retrospective: it imagines how the iconic Countach of the 70s and 80s might have evolved into an elite super sports model of this decade."

Winkelmann notes that the new Countach upholds the Lamborghini tradition of looking forward, exploring new design and technology avenues, while celebrating the brand's DNA. "It is a Lamborghini that innately expresses the marque's enduring and emotive power: always inspirational and thrilling to see, hear, and most of all drive," he concludes.

The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is powered by a mid-mounted 6.5-litre V12 naturally aspirated petrol engine. A high-voltage supercapacitor system augments the machine, and when combined at full thrust, you will get 599kW of power and near 800Nm of torque to play with. 0 to 100km/h takes place in just 2.8 seconds, 0-200km/h takes 8.6 seconds, and if you keep the throttle buried into the floor, it will tap 355km/h.
