Lamborghini is going back to the future by resurrecting one of its most iconic models.
A teasing post on the Italian brand's Instagram account showed three images of what appears to be a modern rendition of the legendary Countach supercar.
The model initially debuted in 1974 and also celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2021. It might just be a coincidence that Lamborghini is also teasing images of a new Countach on the eve of its 50th birthday.
Going back in time
Also seen in one of the images is the presence of a V12 engine, most likely a hybrid system. According to Motor Trend, it will be known as the Countach LP800-4, and will probably share mechanical similarities with the Aventador.

It remains to be seen when the covers will officially be taken off of the new model, as everything regarding specification is speculation at this point. Judging by the teaser video, there are indications it will follow a similar 'wedge' body shape as its 70's predecessor.
