Porsche's electrification strategy – where they plan to have more than half of all their new cars be either fully electric or plug-in hybrids by 2025 - is firmly in motion as the German brand lifted the covers off its next-generation all-electric Macan SUV. 

The first generation was first introduced in 2014 and has undoubtedly aged gracefully since, serving as a formidable option alongside its larger sibling – the Cayenne. So popular is the nameplate that, since 2014, Porsche has sold more than 800 000 examples worldwide. 

Its predecessor has laid a remarkable foundation on which to build. The all-electric SUV boasts plenty of firsts, so let's understand what the new Macan is all about.
