As we draw ever nearer to the South African launch of the all-new Ranger, Ford continues to tease fans and eager buyers with information on the upcoming bakkie. To date, we know that a new 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine will headline the range, and that the next Ranger Raptor will take things further with a 292kW 3.0-litre V6 turbo petrol engine.
The new Ranger is set to be the most advanced yet, with Ford pulling no punches as they go about ensuring that the bakkie boasts all the latest technologies and features. Ford says the technologies fitted to the new Ranger needed to keep occupants and other road users safe; hence they went above and beyond with the bakkie.
Franco Moras, Vehicle Safety manager, Ford Australia, said: "The next-generation Ranger not only delivers on the ability to help (owners) tackle whatever they want at work or with family and friends, but it helps them do that with the safety and peace of mind they want - thanks to the numerous new driver assistance technologies and safety features the new model offers."
