Why isn't there a rugged electric vehicle (EV) bakkie for 4x4 enthusiasts? Rivian's RT1 is impressive but wildly expensive and designed as a lifestyle vehicle. 

Tesla's Cybertruck has the potential to be excellent, but the company hasn't confirmed any specifications, despite images of it being assembled leaking online. But what about a bakkie built for 4x4 adventuring with a battery powertrain?

Sure, you can buy a Hilux or Land Cruiser 70 Series and have its EV converted by Dutch or Australian specialists, but that's still not a dedicated EV with all the benefits. Munro believes it can do what others can't, by engineering and building a rugged battery bakkie platform for demanding users. And the promised product lifecycle is very ambitious.
