The all-new Isuzu mu-X has arrived in South Africa and will officially go on sale in the first week of December 2021. Based on the popular D-Max bakkie, the SUV shares its engine, drivetrain and chassis with the next-generation bakkie that will go on sale in 2022.
The mu-X is powered by a 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine that offers 140kW and 450Nm. Power is sent to the road via a six-speed automatic transmission. The line-up consists of both 4x4 and 4x2 models. Three models make up the range, these being LS, LSE and ONYX. The range-topping Onyx model rides on 20-inch wheels, while the LSE and LS make do with 18- and 17-inch wheels, respectively.
ONYX and LSE models have dual-zone climate control with two separate HVAC units to provide individual temperature for each front seat occupant. All models have roof-mounted aircon vents for second and third-row occupants with independent fan speed control and air conditioning evaporator.

The new mu-X will not only attract more buyers in this segment but is likely to attract buyers from other segments as well."
