Bullying is an issue that has been a cause for concern in schools for years, but it appears to be getting worse...

What's more, reports of bullying tragically ending in death have become too common, as seen in the suicide of Limpopo pupil Lufuno Mavhunga in April, and more recently, the passing of Worcester-based teen Leboang Arnold.

According to reports, Arnold had sustained head trauma after being assaulted by fellow students during school hours and died the following day after suffering an epileptic fit.

His aunt, who spoke with the Daily Voice, confirmed that the cause of death had been deemed the bullying incident.

"He died from the injuries he incurred when he was beaten up at the school. He was beaten mostly on the head," she said.

As a parent or an educator, you might be asking yourself:

Has bullying in SA reached a crisis point?

What can I do to prevent this?

How do I support children through it?

What are the signs?
