Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown forced South Africans to come up with creative ways of surviving the trying times. For this Cape Town family, it was no different, and the youngsters in the household came up with a creative way of generating an additional income in these trying times.
Damian Perrins, his sister Bianca and her boyfriend, Shuaib Talip, came up with a creative way of going about carwashes. Their idea was simple: wash cars with rainbow foam. And this, in a nutshell, was how Wash n Vac Carwash came about.
The idea took flight on Whatsapp, followed by a plan-of-action that saw them get their small business up and running in a matter of weeks. The trio, supported the Perrins' parents and two staff members, says that the support from locals have been massive, but they offer more than just wash your vehicle.
Bianca says that while clients come to them, they also offer a mobile service. In a 5km radius from where they are situated in Somerset West, Cape Town, there are no less than six car washes, Damian adds. But by adding the mobile service to their unique, colourful foam, it adds a different touch to how one sees and perceives the car wash experience.
Attention to detail
The Wheels24 team took two of their vehicles to the Wash n Vac Carwash for a clean. The Porsche 911 Carrera T was a lot cleaner than the mud-riddled Land Rover Defender, but the car wash team gave each vehicle adequate attention and care.
Damian says that it doesn't matter which car it is, each client will receive the best from Wash n Vac. The team operates from the Perrins' home in Somerset West and welcomes any and all types of vehicles to their driveway.
Their prices are very competitive, which makes it understandable why they've been so busy from the moment they opened their doors. The team operates from Monday to Saturday, 09:00 - 16:00.
The Wasn n Vac team will participate in a 'Spring Has Sprung Colourfest' in Strand, Cape Town, tomorrow (5 September 2020).
