WATCH: Here's how a 'street' Nissan Skyline GT R hit 342km/h on the Autobahn

The Nissan Skyline GT R is an iconic car revered by petrolheads the world over but this particular example is a cut above the rest.

It clocked 342km/h on Germany's Autobahn, knocking a Porsche 'Yellowbird' off it's perch in the process, as the video from TheHoonigans explains

The car features a host of aerodynamic and performance modifications in order to attain the high speeds at which it would be subjected.

Much like the 2JZ of the Toyota Supra, the GT R's RB26 engine is a tuner's dream. This particular one was stroked to 2 700cc and converted to a single turbo setup with a host of other 'go faster' goodies.
