WATCH: Evolution of the Range Rover

Cape Town - There are a few cars synonymous with going off road: Toyota Land Cruiser, Willy's Jeep and the Land Rover Series I. But those were all utilitarian vehicles with little comfort engineered into them. 

In 1969 Land Rover built 26 prototypes of the Range Rover and gave them the code name: 'Velar'. Since then, four generations have gone on sale, all more technically advanced than the next but never compromising its off road nature.
