The suspect is expected to appear in Vanderbijlpark Magistrate tomorrow.

"Driver behaviour on our roads is not at a desirable level and therefore this calls for the intensification of road safety education," says MEC Nkosi-Malobane.

"Majority of road fatalities are as a result of excessive speeding, reckless and negligent driving as well as driving under the influence of alcohol.

"As Gauteng City Region, we will intensify the patrol of freeways, streets and public places in clearly marked vehicles as an available means for the prevention of road traffic violations.

"I particularly like to call upon the Law Enforcement Agencies to deal decisively with motorists who continue to disobey the rules of our roads and continue to conduct themselves with impunity," she added.
