The Volkswagen ended January 2019 as the top selling passenger car for the month. It sold a whopping 2512 units to not only go top of the passenger car log, but also second best overall after the Toyota Hilux (2794 units).
The Volkswagen Polo Vivo slots into third place on 2461 units sold, while the Toyota Corolla/Auris/Quest takes third place with 2202 units.
Big Fortuner
South Africa’s favourite SUV, the Toyota Fortuner, continued to play in our list of top ten best-selling passenger cars and it amassed a sales figure of 1000 units. On the dot. Just behind it, in fifth place, is the Hyundai Grandi10 on 867 units. The Grand i10’s bigger sibling, the i20, sits pretty in sixth place with 715 units sold.

Toyota takes the next spots with its Etios (698 units) and Yaris (693 units), followed by Ford snatching the remaining two spots. In ninth place is the EcoSport with 679 units, and in tenth place the Figo on 669 units.
