accreditation

Gauteng and Kwazulu-Natal were the two provinces which sold the most bakkies in April 2018. The Western Cape was pipped by KZN by the slimmest of margins.

Gauteng sold 3706 bakkies last month, some way clear of KZN’s 1293 units. The Western Cape made 1208 units.

Sub-1000 sales

The three leading provinces were the only ones to have sold more than 1000 units. The rest of the provinces are led by Mpumalanga on 770 units, and Limpopo on 584 units.

The Eastern Cape did well to find 475 new bakkie owners in sixth place, and North West (408 units) in seventh place. The Free State sold 364 new bakkies, followed by the Northern Cape’s sales figure of 228 units.

Q1 sales

Gauteng accumulated a massive 17 206 units sold over the course of 2018’s first three months, almost three times more than the second-placed KZN (6307 units). The Western Cape saw 5774 light commercial vehicles (LCVs) finding new homes, ahead of Mpumalanga (3553 units).

Limpopo lies fifth on 2644 units, ahead of the Eastern Cape (2579 units).

In seventh place sits the North West province with 2119 units sold, followed by the Free State (1722 units) and the Northern Cape (930 units).
