Cars have been a part of history since the 1900's but complicated systems and reliance on computers are making them more difficult to work on.

The days of working on your car in your driveway is becoming something of a rarity because almost all parts of modern cars require specific tools.

The computer age

These days, one simply has to connect a laptop to your car's computer 'box', and it can tell you exactly what is wrong and where the problem lies.

With that said, not all cars on the roads require electronic fixing - just a good old fashioned spanner, socket and elbow grease combination will do the trick.

In the midst of all this, repair shops and mechanics have to adjust and learn to go with the times because the age of electric vehicles and 'computer driven' cars have been around for quite some time now.
