Any racecar driver worth their salt in Germany dreams of an afternoon on the legendary Nurburgring circuit.
Reporter Klaus Niedzwiez took out a car able to set records on it, but it's just as much fun on a country road.
Setting the record straight
Porsche and the Nurburgring are synonymous with racing, a rich pedigree that stretches way back. This time, the 387kW Porsche GT3 'Race Sport' tackles the famed and most gruelling circuit - a true test of car and driver.
The sound of the GT3 RS is unmistakable as the exhaust tone relays the song of the powerful 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine.
Just by looking at the car you know it means business. The chassis is made from carbon fibre, aluminium and magnesium to drastically reduce weight.
The car feels most at home once it makes its way onto the track where the right pedal becomes the most used.
With this car, Porsche sticks true to its racing heritage while also making a car designed for the street.
