SA's most popular bakkes: Toyota Hilux dominates, Amarok on the rise in June

The Toyota Hilux proved to be force to be reckoned with in June 2019; it beat its nearest rival and closest competitor, the Ford Ranger, by nearly 3000 units.

The Ranger managed 2029 units last month.

In third place is the ever-popular Nissan NP200 with a sales figure of 1709 units.

D-Max in fourth

The Isuzu D-Max maintained its customary fourth position with 1611 sales, falling just short of the NP200’s third place. The Nissan NP300/Hardbody goes fifth on 780 units sold, followed by the Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up on 241 units.

Volkswagen’s Amarok surpassed the 200-mark last month and registered 225 units. The GWM Steed found favour amongst 175 new owners, just ahead of the Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up on 169 units.

The Nissan Navara rounds out the top ten with 126 units sold.
