The flagship Jack Barclay Bentley showroom, the world’s oldest and largest Bentley retailer, hosted the showroom debut of the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible this week.
The cutting-edge Continental GT Convertible is the latest and most technologically advanced vehicle in a lineage of luxurious Bentley models that stretches back to 1919. Steeped in history, it’s only fitting that the car should be displayed in a showroom first founded in its iconic Mayfair location back in 1953.
Tailor-made authenticity
The all-new Bentley Continental GT Convertible is designed, engineered and handcrafted in Britain, representing all Bentley knows about creating the world’s most stylish and elegant Grand Tourers.
The elegant and sculptural exterior, with its Tornado lines – achieved by an industry-first super-forming process – is complemented by a tailored convertible roof that can be deployed in just 19 seconds, and available in seven different colours, including an authentic tweed finish for the first time.
Stowing the roof reveals a cabin showcasing Bentley’s unrivalled expertise in using natural materials, including the highest-quality leathers and 10sqm of rare, sustainably-sourced wood in each car.

Jack Barclay Bentley has a unique connection to the Bentley brand, with its namesake considered as one of the original 'Bentley Boys'. In fact, Jack Barclay himself drove a Bentley 4.5 litre to victory in the 1929 Brooklands 500, setting an average speed of more than 172km/h. The showroom retains many of its original features, including the iconic chequered floor, wood-panelling and art deco signage.

However, just like the new Continental GT Convertible is a very modern distillation of Bentley history, the Jack Barclay site has recently been subject to a multi-million-pound renovation. It now features a stunning new central bar trimmed in fine Bentley leather and a new commissioning suite for greater inspiration and privacy.
