• Drag race time again as the long-term garage cars go up against each other
• All the cars feature turbocharged engines, four-wheel drive and automatic transmissions
• Mercede-AMG G63 has the most power at 436kW compared to the T-Roc R's 221kW
The Carwow long-term garage is filled with several high-performance machines that make any person envious. From the Mercedes-AMG G63 to the BMW M340i Touring and a couple of Volkswagen Group SUVs in between there's a lot to like.
All the cars have turbocharged engines and automatic gearboxes. The SA-bound Volkswagen T-Roc R and Audi RSQ3 Sportback are down on power in comparison to the BMW and Mercedes-AMG.
The T-Roc R has 221kW and 400Nm and a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds. Its cousin the RSQ3 is powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cyinder engine with 250kW and 480Nm.
The BMW has an eight-speed sports transmission, the familiar B58 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder turbocharged motor, and all-wheel drive. Power is noted at 285kW and 500Nm, with 0-100km/h taking just 4.4 seconds says BMW. Top speed is pegged at 250km/h.
And finally the G63 packs a 436kW 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8.
The Carwow team had this to say: "We’ll be honest, we don’t think the carwow long-termer garage has ever looked better! We’ve got Mat in his trusty Mercedes-AMG G63, and alongside him, we’ve got a VW T-Roc R, Audi RSQ3 Sportback, and a BMW M340i!"
