Next-generation BMW X5 spotted testing in Joburg
Johannesburg - A BMW X5 test 'mule' was spotted along a Johannesburg highway and according to Wheels24 readers has been seen in George earlier in February.
The new SUV is due to make its appearance at the Paris Motor Show in October 2018, according to Evo.
The vehicle was hidden behind heavy camouflage and was photographed by Bevan Lategan who was kind enough to send us the images. Judging from the photographs, the new model has grown substantially in length.
The upcoming fourth-generation will be underpinned by the CLAR platform, which reduces weight considerably. The G30 5 Series weighs only 1615 depending on the model.
In terms of engines, expect to see a plug-in hybrid derivative as well as an X5 M version, the latter was seen winter testing here.
