Retirement not yet on the cards for Haas' Grosjean

Haas driver Romain Grosjean believes he still has much more to offer Formula 1 and is not ready to retire just yet.

Last season the Frenchman was rumoured to be on his way out, Haas having grown frustrated after one too many team mate clashes.

In the end, though, the team decided to retain both Grosjean and his team mate Kevin Magnussen.

Turning 34 this year, Grosjean is one of the older drivers on the grid but he is some way off of the oldest, Kimi Raikkonen, who is already 40.

The Haas driver admits he has given some thought to quitting F1 and already knows what he wants to do after he hangs up his helmet.

However, he’s not yet ready for that moment.

Not yet ready

Grosjean told F1only.fr: “Yes I already thought about it as after F1 I have a lot of plans. But 33 years old is still young. We can see Kimi Raikkonen who is 40-years-old and who is still driving very well. In any case, my idea, my desire for the moment, is to stay in F1. To find a competitive car to be able to have fun at the front.

"If that’s the case, I will stay in F1, because I like it, because I like to travel, I like challenges, and because it is my passion.”

Grosjean managed just eight points last season, one more than his number of retirements.
