Brad Binder will finally make his MotoGP debut today (19 July). The South African rider qualified 11th on his first outing for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, awith MotoGP legend, Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha) two positions ahead in ninth.

But for Binder this is a dream come true, having finally made it to the big league. After joining the Moto3 full-time in 2012, Binder made the gradual climb to MotoGP. And in 2016, he won the Moto2 championship with a series of unforgettable races.

In an exclusive video supplied to Wheels24 by Red Bull, Binder speaks candidly on the prospect of his first race: "To think that I'm going to be lining up against people I've looked up to my whole life, you know? My sporting hero and favourite MotoGP rider has always been Valentino Rossi, and now I get the opportunity to race against him.

"It's crazy to think from where we started back in South Africa; we're going to get the opportunity to race in a proper MotoGP race."

Catch Brad Binder is his first MotoGP race on Sunday (19 July) at 13:55 on SuperSport 5 on DSTV.
