Italian MotoGP: Marquez tops first practice at Mugello

Reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez posted the fastest free practice time Friday ahead of the Italian Grand Prix.

Italy's home hopes Danilo Petrucci and Michele Pirro, both on Ducatis, were second and third ahead of Sunday's race on the Mugello circuit.

Marquez clocked 1min 47.558sec on his Honda followed home by seven riders within a half-second of that time.
