Inspirational! Free State farmers, EMS rescue stranded children from bus

Free State - A bus with 23 school children and 3 adults aboard has been rescued in a joint effort by Free State EMS and farmers  from nearby Koppies farms. 

The farmers helped to rescue all 23 children and the adults from the bus using a tractor,  reports Free State EMS.

It is believed that this bus was swept by heavy currents of rain water, causing it to slide into a ditch. The Farm is near Engen 1 Stop on N1 near Koppies area on the R723 road.

Free State Department of Health said: "All kids and teachers have been safely removed from the bus. No injuries sustained."

Arrive Alive's Johan Jonck: "We urge all South Africans to be extra cautious in areas experience flooding! Do not assume that it is safe to cross water or that the road surface has remained in a safe condition. Inquire for the local police stations in areas whether roads and bridges are open and adhere to the safety advice given."
