Tyler, Texas - A Chevrolet dealership in Tyler, Texas, has been raided by thieves, leaving 48 vehicles without tyres.
The incident took place earlier in August 2016 and according to Automotive News, the value of the stolen goods is the equivalent of R2.83-million.
The Tyler police department’s public information officer, Don Martin, said that the thieves gained entry by removing the locks on the rear gate of the dealership.
Thieves in the night
The thieves knocked out the bright lights that are kept on during the night and vandalised the vehicles in complete darkness. Video footage shows a truck pulling up at the dealership just after 1am the morning but investigators could not identify the suspects; nor how many were involved.

Martin said that the thieves took around four hours to complete the crime. Many Camaro muscle cars were left on bricks along with other trucks and sedans.
Calculating the number
The majority of the affect vehicles were fitted with 20” or 22” tyres and rims.
