Cape Town - Have you ever seen a BMW 5 Series in a yellow hue or a red Mercedes-Benz E-Class? Probably not. The reason? Well, they're serious cars and therefore are mostly purchased in 'serious' colours - black, silver, white and grey.
So when Jaguar's XF 3.0 S arrived on test this week in the Wheels24 garage, we were quite surprised to see it specced in vibrant 'Italian Racing Red'.
R21 000 wheels
The top-of-the-range model's paint scheme isn't cheap - try R3900. But it's glorious and arguably worth it. The most expensive option fitted to the model is its R21 000 20" five-spoke wheels.
This particular model is powered by a rather potent 3.0-litre supercharged engine capable of 280kW.
Initial driving impressions are good with great steering feedback. It helps that this Jag sends power to the rear wheels and there's nothing better than a hint of back-end stepping out when applying the throttle.

Thinking of buying a new XF? Spend nearly R4000 and spec it in Italian Racing Red. You'll love it.
The red Jaguar made us think of other paintjobs that look great on performance models.
