Pretoria - Jaguar's F-Type sports car will arrive freshened-up in the second quarter of 2017.
The biggest change to the cat is the new Touch Pro infotainment system. The tablet-style operation, features navigation functions such as being able to share your ETA and online services such as real-time traffic and live weather reports.
Full LED headlights are now also available.
New seats
The car is fitted with new seats, which 8kgs lighter than the old ones. Jag says the seat frames are pressure diecast magnesium alloy – a material with the high strength-to-weight ratio.
The new design also allows the seatback to move rearwards by up to 50mm more than before, resulting in a lower seating position and increased legroom says the company.
In sync
For tech-savvy owners, there's a new ReRun app developed in collaboration with GoPro available. Jaguar says the app combines real-time video from the driver’s GoPro with key vehicle performance data including speed, throttle position, gear selection, braking force and g force.
Inevitably, the clip can be downloaded to the driver’s smartphone and shared on social media.
Special edition
Jag will also now make exclusive 400 SPORT launch edition, which will go on sale worldwide but for one model year only. Power from the new 294kW version of the 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine is joined by an uprated chassis comprising the super performance braking system, configurable dynamics and 20" wheels with a unique hue.
Local pricing will be announced in February and all 28 derivatives will be available.
