Silverstone - Lewis Hamilton won his fifth British Grand Prix Sunday after leading every lap in a dominating display in front of his home fans.
The 32-year-old led Mercedes to a 1-2 finish with team mate Valtteri Bottas while Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen who suffered a puncture limped home in third.
Vettel's championship lead cut to one point
Raikkonen's team mate and championship leader Sebastian Vettel also suffered a puncture in a bizarre turn of the events for the German.
But all eyes were on Hamilton, who was lambasted for not attending a promotional event in London last week, but the crowd showed him no shade as he jumped into their clutches after the race.
