Monte Carlo, Principality of Monaco - Record-breaking Dutch teenager Max Verstappen is set to start Sunday's 2016 Monaco Grand Prix from the pits lane following his crash in qualifying on Saturday.
His Red Bull car was badly damaged and the team had to rebuild it using a new chassis, a move that requires it to be re-scrutineered on Sunday morning.
The switch to a pits lane start means the team can also make late changes to the car including a switch to a wet weather set-up if, as forecast, there is rain on Sunday.
"Apparently, some rain is expected and that could be nice," said Verstappen, 18, who two weeks ago became the sport's youngest race winner in the Spanish Grand Prix.
"I will try to overtake. Every track where you crash, you pay a big price, of course, but maybe a little bit more here.
"If it rains, let's see what can happen."
