US Grand Prix: Rosberg fastest in 2nd practice

Texas - Formula 1 championship leader Nico Rosberg put more pressure on Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton by posting the fastest lap in Friday's practice sessions at the 2016 US Grand Prix.

Hamilton led the morning session before Rosberg came back in the afternoon with a lap of 1 minute, 37.358 seconds. Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo was second in the afternoon session with Hamilton third. Hamilton's lap of 1min37.428 in the morning was second fastest of the day.

Hamilton trails Rosberg by 33 points heading into the final four races, starting Sunday.

Rosberg started from the pole in Texas in each of the last two years only to see Hamilton win. Hamilton's 2015 victory clinched his second consecutive F1 championship. Hamilton has won three times in the four previous races at the Circuit of the Americas
