Cape Town - It was a grim weekend in Spain as Spanish rider Luis Salom died following a horror crash on Friday (June 3 2016).
Salom crashed during second practice at the famous Catalunya circuit in Barcelona, Spain for the Spanish GP. Exiting Turn 12, Salom lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into barriers.
The accident forced race organisers to "cancel" the fast right-hand Turn 12 and adopt an F1-style layout that slows riders down heading into the same section of the track.
